Ibanez ST 980 8 String Bass, 1980, MIJ Walnut, Mahogany, and Maple w/ original Hardcase & Hangtags

$1,275.00

Here is the bass guitar equivalent of a 12 string guitar! The 8 String Ibanez ST-980 was part of the “Studio” Series of instruments designed in the late 70s and early 80s. Great bassists like John McVie from Fleetwood Mac, Alex Blake in the Manhattan Transfer, and Sting while in The Police favored playing Ibanez “Studio” series basses.

This rare instrument is in excellent shape with an easy to play neck and fully functional electronic system. It appears to be in 100% original condition and there is plenty of life left in the frets. It even includes the original hangtag with the adjustment tool for the Velvet Tuners, the original warranty card and the truss rod key! The handle is missing from the hardcase but the latches are still functional.

This fine instrument will be expertly packed in a rigid cardboard box with plenty of packing material.
